Puppy proofing is a big project that ideally you want done before the puppy comes. You will very likely miss things, but fret not, the puppy will be happy to let you know what you’ve missed! Living Room: Secure cords, pick up valuables and fragile items, use baby gates or exercise pens to confine the puppy to a safe area.


Kitchen: Get a trash can with a lid, keep counters clean and clear for large dogs, baby gate to keep puppy out when unsupervised.

Bedroom: Put shoes away, hamper inaccessible/with lid, secure cords


Bathroom: lidded trash can, keep medications and toiletries in cabinets, ideally keep door closed
